Public Participation and Consultations

The involvement of the public in the planning process has been encouraged in recent years by Government Policy. Localism seeks to empower communities to be involved in the planning process.

Consequently there has to be greater participation with the public on planning matters. This may be as simple as speaking to neighbours about a proposed rear extension or as comprehensive as staging an exhibition over a few days to ensure that a community has the chance to shape emerging proposals. BJC is experienced in undertaking such consultations and presenting findings in a Statement of Community Involvement.
